Your EDM Premiere: WENZDAY Drops Halloween Party Starter “Disko Dancing” [LISTEN]

One of our go-to favorite producers, WENZDAY just hit us with another driving house record worth screaming over!

She’s been dropping clues all month long, hinting at new music and a Halloween-themed release. Finally, “Disko Dancing” has arrived and it’s the life of the party! Whatever function you’re heading out to tonight, this is the track to get it started.

“Disko Dancing” is a touch sinister, with gripping energy and bone-shaking bass. Squeaky clean sound design and tight percussion pack the punch as the rhythm takes over. Grab your devil horns and hit the dance floor pronto.

This track marks the first off WENZDAY’s Demons Dancing EP, forthcoming on 40oz Cult. Check back here for another premiere soon (hint hint).

If you’re not “Disko Dancing” this Halloween then you’re not doing it right. Listen and link up with WENZDAY below!

[PREMIERE] SVDDEN DEATH & Somnium Sound Turn Fisher's "Losing It" Into A Dubstep Anthem

[PREMIERE] SVDDEN DEATH & Somnium Sound Turn Fisher’s “Losing It” Into A Dubstep Anthem

It’s finally here! At long last, the “Losing It” edit from SVDDEN DEATH and Somnium Sound has finally arrived and it’s everything we wanted and more.

The original from Fisher has become a classic already in the relatively short time since its release, and now this remix is set to set a bar for anyone trying to put a dubstep spin on the tune. The remix gets a huge melodic influence along with the bass, much like Somnium Sound’s latest EP Genesis.

When you get SVDDEN DEATH and Somnium Sound on a track together, there’s a good chance the result is going to be absolutely wild — and that’s precisely the case here.

Check out the remix below!

Handsome Habibi

Your EDM Premiere: Handsome Habibi – The Whistle

Insanity Records is today releasing the eye-catching new single from Handsome Habibi. This act is a twin sibling duo, and they have a precise artistic slant to their pumped up dance beats.

As you can see in our premiere below, they put special attention to the accompanying visuals. Directed by Titouan Harel and Clement Chassarey, ‘The Whistle’ is given a whole narrative that takes you on a space-themed voyage. The tune itself is punchy and laced with an engrossing vocal loop, designed to keep your full attention.

The pair shares a little about their vision, saying: “Although born in a futuristic Utopia in outer space, Handsome Habibi identify as human beings. On a recent time-travelling trip in search of their missing sister Mon Amina, they encountered technical problems onboard their space glider that led them to emergency land in London in the year 2019.

Check it out here.

Snippets of hard-edged vocals and pacy beats are the order of the day with ‘Phantom Cry,’ which builds with an almost frantic dynamic. The bassline goes off with fiery depth, whilst Crankdat creates some shrill melodic shards to layer over the top.

PT-A10 Nerds Trying To Dance Cover Art@3000

Your EDM Premiere: Pedestrian Tactics – Kernel Panic

The US producer formerly known as Corporate – now Pedestrian Tactics – has a new EP out today. He brings to attention Nerds Trying To Dance via the wicked MAD ZOO label, and the computer programming-inspired collection hits a total of four cuts.

Pedestrian Tactics has enjoyed the support of bass artists like Zomboy and Porter Robinson for his quirky electronic beats, and looks to score more points with this release. We’re pleased to present the closing piece ‘Kernel Panic’ today.

It picks up the pace from some of the rest of the EP, and layers in jagged arpeggios and a groovy dubstep breakdown for a satisfying punch. With solid variety and intricate attention to detail at the forefront, we thoroughly recommend checking out he whole of the Nerds Trying To Dance here.

Justice Debut New Collaboration With Frank Ocean

Justice Debut New Collaboration With Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean launched a new club night in NYC last night shrouded in mystery — the location wasn’t revealed publicly and tickets were only available to those who’d be sent a specific link. (How those people actually got the link, I’m not sure.) Shares Mixmag, “The title for the party is PrEP+, which also stands for pre-exposure prophylaxis, ‘a way for people who do not have HIV but who are at very high risk of getting HIV to prevent HIV infection by taking a pill every day,’ according to the CDC.”

One of the house rules for the night was “no photos or videos,” but that was apparently broken, and we’re thankful it was, to share this new Justice and Frank Ocean collaboration debuted at the club.

The house rule made the videos below understandably low quality, but fans of both artists will still take pleasure in hearing some new material. Ocean was reportedly going up in the DJ booth “sporadically,” as Mixmag put it, to share new music with collaborators like Sango and Sherelle.

Your EDM Premiere: Matthew Schultz – Turn Me Up

This week’s release is a collaboration with Gyptian, and takes the smooth form of ‘Turn Me Up.’ It’s not the first time Schultz has worked with the reggae singer, and their ‘Promises For Keeps’ and ‘All Night Long’ have racked up millions of streams.

‘Turn Me Up’ is a languid listen with bags of charisma oozing through. Synth layers and dancehall-inspired percussion mean that this track grooves from the speakers with eye-catching appeal. Evoking endless Friday feelings, be sure to turn up this one on the stream below.
