Release Spotlight

REZZ surprises fans with a somewhat unexpected yet surprising collaboration with masked French DJ Malaa. The two deliver us ‘Criminals,’ a perfect blend of REZZ’s dark bass work layered onto Malaa’s signature house sound. The record was released on Tchami’s Confession label.

Shöckface and fellow contemporary So Sus release their alien-tinged collaboration, ‘Tribe’ on Jayceeoh‘s imprint label Super 7 records. The record opens up with a beautiful yet haunting soundscape only to transform into a barrage of alien styled synths as the record prolongs. The record is wonky, experimental and explosive all in one.

Saka debuts his first record ‘Dragons Back’ on taste-maker label Phuture Collective. The solo record is gritty, energetic and filled with flow. An absolute must listen.

QUIX delivers us a new EP on Steve Aoki‘s Dim Mak record label. The EP titled IDK Vol. 1 is filled with 4 classic QUIX sounding trap/bass crossover bangers.

Sony Announces Groundbreaking 360 Reality Audio

Sony Announces Groundbreaking 360 Reality Audio

The future of music is here — as Sony has announced its groundbreaking 360 Reality Audio. It’s made for music lovers by music lovers and is about to change the game as we know it.

In late Fall, Sony plans to unleash its cutting-edge audio upgrade — which relies on object-based spatial audio technology to take our listening experience to the next level. The result is fully immersive, 360-degree audio, which sounds exactly the way the artist intended.

Upon its launch, 1,000 songs including 100 live concert recordings will be made available by a variety of artists like Mark Ronson, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Charli XCX and Pharrell Williams. Users can expect plenty more music to be added as 360 Reality Audio progresses.

Listeners can experience 360 Reality Audio through most headphones and participating apps. Using Sony’s own headphones and Headphones Connect app will reportedly provide optimum results.

As described by Sony, “Vocals, chorus and instruments [will be tagged with] positional information of distance and angle to suit their creative and artistic purpose.”

Music Publishers Call for Formal Investigation of TikTok’s Potential Copyright Theft

TikTok may soon be investigated for copyright infringement…

According to Billboard, the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) is calling on United States Congress to investigate the Chinese company’s potential copyright theft, stated as such in a letter dated October 16.

The letter, sent to Senator Marco Rubio from NMPA president and CEO David Israelite, claims the widely popular video sharing app “has consistently violated U.S. copyright law and the rights of songwriters and music publishers.”

It goes on: “The scale of TikTok’s copyright infringement in the U.S. is likely considerable and deserves scrutiny. We hope that if Congress looks further into matters relating to TikTok that copyright theft is included in the scope of its examination.”

The letter describes: “Many videos uploaded to TikTok incorporate musical works that have not been licensed and for which copyright owners are not being paid.”

Not only are there copyright claims that involve songwriters and music publishers, but censorship concerns as well.

As of May 2019, TikTok was the most downloaded iOS app for the fifth consecutive quarter.

Conan Mac Releases Highly Anticipated Music Video To “All Again” [Video]

If there’s someone who was born to be an artist, it’s Conan Mac. At only age 16, Conan Mac’s debut singles, “Remember” & “Dinosaur”, reached the top 15 on the UK iTunes Singer-Songwriter charts. Since, he’s added to this impressive resume by performing hundreds of live performances, including the likes of worldwide University & school performances, BBC Introducing Live, and the O2 Academy.

A few months ago, he released a single “All Again”, produced by Will Rumens, that quickly earned quite a bit of attention both in press and in streams. Following this single, his fans have had quite the anticipation for the music video, which succeeds in every way.

The music video tells the story of recollecting on the summer months and how if given the chance, reliving the picturesque sun-soaked days filled with unforgettable memories. Capturing the beauty of summertime — and an attempt at salvaging the remnants of a lingering romance — the “All Again” music video is a flawless accompaniment to the smash single.
