After it was revealed that Porter Robinson would be curating his own festival, it nearly broke the internet. The chance or even the thought that one of the most influential artists in electronic music would be doing things his way for one full weekend in Oakland, California left fans starstruck. The possibilities were endless with Second Sky Festival as fans anticipated a large showcase of Porter’s tastemaking abilities.
A lineup consisting of Porter Robinson, Madeon, Cashmere Cat, G Jones, Nina Las Vegas, Chrome Sparks, Kero Kero Bonito, Anamanaguchi, Wednesday Campanella, and Virtual Self was aimed to expand the tastes of the thousands of music lovers in attendance. Offering various styles of music, Porter’s curating abilities proved worthy as there wasn’t one set that didn’t leave fans entertained. Whether it was Wednesday Campanella’s obstruct fan interactions, KKB’s wicked stage presence, or Anamanguchi’s amazing visuals; it all tied together to create an experience people wouldn’t forget.
With over 8 thousand in attendance and over 30 thousand watching at home, there’s no denying the influence the festival had over the electronic music community.
