After 153 Days, This Fan Finally Got To Chug A Bottle Of Water With Rezz

Hydration at shows is of paramount importance, and who knows this better than Nick Ochoa… who’s Nick Ochoa, you might ask? He’s the fan that has chugged a bottle of water every day for 153 days straight for the opportunity to chug a bottle on stage with his favorite artist, Rezz.

Rezz routinely asks her fans to chug water with her on Twitter, so Ochoa took it upon himself to make it a challenge: “Chugging a bottle of water until Rezz notices and agrees to chug a bottle of water with me.”

It didn’t take long, only six days, for Rezz to notice that he’d been chugging.

However, it took another 147 days from then for the two to actually come together and chug a bottle on stage. And while this may seem like a truly innocuous event, for fans of Rezz and those in her Cult, this was the culmination of a months-long affair with a brilliant ending.

See the wholesome moment below, and catch Rezz on her Beyond The Senses tour here.

[PREMIERE] Code Pandorum Impossibly Takes ATLiens & EDDIE's "Closer" Even Deeper In New Remix

[PREMIERE] Code Pandorum Impossibly Takes ATLiens & EDDIE’s “Closer” Even Deeper In New Remix

When ATLiens and EDDIE first dropped “Closer” from the Ghost Planet EP earlier this year, it was already one of the darkest and deepest songs I’ve heard in a long time. The minimalism and tenor of the bass contribute heavily to also giving it one of the creepiest sound profiles ever. What I never expected was that another producer could come in and make it even darker and even creepier… then again, it’s Code Pandorum, so why am I not surprised?

Code Pandorum takes the minimalist original and lights a fire under it, giving it more depth and variety in the synths and bass. All of the elements of the roots remain, but CP puts it all through the ringer as he warps and molds each little element to his own design. The result is a devilish dubstep banger that will have even the most seasoned headbangers stopping for a moment to ask, “What the actual fuck?”

“This remix is probably one of my favorites I did so far,” says Code Pandorum. “ATLiens posted the music video of ‘Closer’ with EDDIE and I was instantly inspired. The dark eerie vibe really got me and I directly had a vision for the remix. You dare to move a little closer..?”

Check out the remix below, and listen to the full remix pack here. Check out ATLiens on tour if you get the chance!

Getter Drops Emotional New Original “Heartless” [MUST LISTEN]

Getter is taking those Visceral vibes and running with them, as heard in his latest single out today.

“Heartless” showcases Getter’s ability to effortlessly shift from genre to genre, making for something truly raw and real. Our brains scramble to make sense of it — he starts with a four on the floor house beat, and then — wait, what is he doing? It’s better to let go of all that and listen.

“Heartless” is simply beautiful and deeply emotional, letting us in on yet another side of Getter we’re not fully accustomed to. His focus is on the music, not on the ways we try to define it — originality at its best.

And, we like to think this is a low key middle finger to all those who hated on Visceral.

Listen to “Heartless” below and belt out the lyrics:

Cut my heart out
We’ll never work it out
But we keep trying
And you keep crying
Feels like I’m frozen
You think I’m chosen
Please don’t start this
Maybe I’m heartless

Axwell Drops Fiery New Remix For Halsey’s “Graveyard”

Axwell brings a different kind of Halloween vibe this year with his new remix of “Graveyard” by Halsey.

This combo isn’t a total surprise, but it’s still somewhat unexpected. Axwell teased an unnamed remix a little over a week ago and dropped this one on fans today. Not only are Halsey’s vocals pitched down for a bit of a darker vibe, the entire vibe of the song is thoroughly reimagined.

The original “Graveyard” was as close to a singer/songwriter masterclass as you get, with acoustic guitar, soft electronic pads, and Halsey’s enchanting vocals. As soon as Axwell got his hands on it, the electronic aspect was pushed to its limits with the Swedish house star at the helm. Vocals were chopped and screwed and the quaint songwriting and composition was replaced with a dirty bassline fit for dark clubs at 3am.

Check out the remix below, and catch Halsey on tour here.

Martin Garrix Drops Strangely Pleasant Song “Used To Love” For Halloween

Everyone today is dropping spooky tracks or mixes in celebration of Halloween — except for Martin Garrix. Honestly, it’s hard to tell if there’s a spooky bone in the wholesome Dutch boy’s body, and his new song with Dean Lewis, “Used To Love,” reinforces the suspicion that there isn’t.

“Used To Love” is the usual Garrix fare, with some quaint vocal chops in the drop and an non-intrusive melody. Lewis’ voice never really stands out from the production, which itself never really reaches any sort of crescendo. It’s a lot like his songs “No Sleep” with BONN or “There for You” with Troye Sivan, showing off a more mellow side to his sound, rather than the firework-inducing main stage bangers most people know him for.

Check out “Used To Love” from Martin Garrix and Dean Lewis below, out now on STMPD RCRDS. Catch Martin Garrix on tour here.

Lane 8 Drops Enthralling 2-Hour Spooky House Mix For Halloween

Lane 8 Drops Enthralling 2-Hour Spooky House Mix For Halloween

Halloween can manifest itself in a lot of different ways. You could find joy in giving others candy when they come to your door, you can dress up and go out partying, or you could turn your porch lights off and enjoy the fact that your roommates are out of the house for the night and cozy up with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa…

In the same way, Halloween can present itself differently in music. We’ve already seen dozens of bass music mixes come out to celebrate the horror filled nights, with one of the biggest still on its way, but how about house?

The groovy genre doesn’t typically have that sort of growling, impending-doom type of sound to it, so how do you make it spooky? You up the suspense, the darkness, the looming sense of unease. It’s not an easy task by any means, but Lane 8 accomplishes the task spectacularly.

While two hours for a mix might seem like a hefty task, as well, á la BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, Lane 8 goes beyond that for 140 minutes of groovy, dark, foreboding house that flows like a demon into the night. Even listening to it in the morning will give you a bit of a boost going into the day. Listening at night, well… that’s another story entirely.

Check out Lane 8’s Halloween 2019 mixtape below, and buy tickets to see him live on tour here.

Disclosure, Chromeo, & More Added To An Already Stacked Djakarta Warehouse 2019

Disclosure, Chromeo, & More Added To An Already Stacked Djakarta Warehouse 2019

Not EDC, not Ultra, but Djakarta Warehouse in Indonesia has presented one of the strongest lineups of 2019. There’s a lot to be said about the undercard and support in curating a festival lineup, but when you have headlining sets from Calvin Harris and Skrillex and Zedd and Martin Garrix… not much else needs to be said.

Better yet, September’s lineup drop was only Phase 1, and the festival has just announced Phase 2. Joining this already stacked lineup will be Disclosure, Chromeo, Markus Schulz, Salvatore Ganacci, Coone, Yung Bae, and still more to be announced.

DWP takes place December 13 – 15 at Jakarta International Expo in Indonesia. Tickets and info here.

Illenium Earns Second-Ever Gold Record For “Good Things Fall Apart” With Jon Bellion

The moment I first heard “Good Things Fall Apart” from Illenium and Jon Bellion, I knew it was destined for greatness. At the time, I thought about its perfect parallels with teenage coming-of-age films, but I suppose a gold record is pretty good, too.

“Good Things Fall Apart” is now the second-ever gold record for Illenium, after “Feel Good,” his collaboration with Gryffin and Daya. It’s actually a little crazy to believe, especially considering his collaboration with The Chainsmokers, “Takeaway,” has triple the streams on Spotify. But hey, streams aren’t everything, right?

“GTFA” was released in May this year, prompting tears from everyone. As it was released just before his performance at EDC Las Vegas, hearing it live at the circuitGROUNDS was easily one of the most emotional moments at the festival, at least for me. To see it getting the proper recognition definitely feels good.

Listen to it once again below, you know… for old time’s sake. Find tickets for Illenium on his Ascend Tour here.
