As far as mysteries go, NGHTMRE, SLANDER, The Glitch Mob, and Seven Lions have left fans riddled with questions after simultaneously changing their Twitter picture to the same image. The obvious answer is that a mega-collab is coming. The potential collaboration would mark one of the biggest collaborations in electronic music history. The image represents the four basic elements, earth, wind, fire, and air, and could conceivably link to the idea of the four artists blending their distinctive styles together on one track. The second possibility could be a tour, which would be just as tantalizing as a mega-collab. NGHTMRE, SLANDER, and Seven Lions have each been hard at work this year dropping collaborations left and right, while The Glitch Mob have held out on us thus far. There’s no confirmation yet but we do know something major is on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates.
Gryffin is no stranger to collaboration. He recently released “All You Need To Know” with SLANDER and “Feel Good” with Illenium remains as one of his biggest tracks to date. Ahead of his highly anticipated track with Aloe Blacc, Gryffin has leaked news of an upcoming collaboration with Seven Lions. Seven Lions has been busy dropping collaborations all year long alongside Kill The Noise, Crystal Skies, Trivecta, and Wooli. Both Gryffin and Seven Lions have a knack for melodic soundscapes so whatever they cook up is bound to be extremely dreamy. Stay tuned for more updates on Gryffin and Seven Lions’ upcoming collaboration.
When Seven Lions, Wooli and Trivecta teamed up to for “Island,” we knew it would bring the best qualities from all three artists together into one absolute beautiful song. From the gorgeous hook into a gleefully melodic bass breakdown all culminating into a dubstep drop that is like a breath of fresh air, no one could have predicted it would be this huge of a song.
The newest remix EP of the track includes five artists all bringing their life into the song. Blastoyz and Dimibo drop off psytrance inspired remixes, while TYNAN and Sullivan King deliver their own bass-heavy takes. Au5’s takes the already melodic bass tune and curates it into something even more powerful. Check out the full remix EP below.
Seven Lions has been on a musical tear as of late and for good reason. After launching his very own Ophelia Records imprint, the producer has made it his mission to lead the label to success. In doing so, he’s delivered some of his best work in recent memory. The latest product is the collaboration with Crystal Skies titled “Sojourn.” The euphoric rush of energy offered here is enough for you to stick around. Blending gritty basslines with anthemic saw waves is the perfect combination to kick off your weekend. Check out the track below.
