8 Things We Learned at Electric Forest 2019

Another year of Electric Forest has come and gone. For the first time since 2016, Electric Forest took place over just one weekend. Yes there was a bit more people than years past but after day 1 – there was no issues with that at all. As Electric Forest drew closer – all eyes were on the weather – as storms were forecasted for…well most of the weekend. But the magic of Electric Forest pushed through. Minus a little storm on Friday morning – skies were clear – and the music was uninterrupted. We were lucky enough to swing by Electric Forest 2019 again this year – and wrote about some of our favorite things we ‘learned’ at this year’s event. See you all next year!

Drum and Bass Isn’t Dead (And Neither Is Disco)
The only reason Electric Forest has the free-reign to book such an eclectic roster of artists year after year is because of the open-minded forest goers that attend every year. It’s a give and take relationship that has helped this community thrive into what it is today. Louis The Child Are Working On Their Debut Album

Louis The Child have garnered a dedicated fanbase over the course of their career. In 2017, they dropped their debut Love Is Alive EP and quickly followed up with last year’s Kids At Play EP, both of which featured longtime collaborator Elohim. Yesterday, the Chicago duo responded to a fan on Twitter announcing that they’re currently working on their debut album. While Louis The Child has been quiet this year aside from their official remix of Elohim’s “The Wave,” they’ve already teased a new remix of Death Cab For Cutie’s “I Dreamt We Spoke Again,” due out May 21st. With their first full-length album on the way, the possibilities are endless and we can’t wait to hear what these future bass pioneers cook up. Stay tuned for more updates on Louis The Child’s upcoming debut album.

Lido And Louis The Child Spotted In The Studio Together

2019 is definitely the year of collaboration. We’ve already been blessed with monstrous collabs between Alison Wonderland and Dillon Francis, Ekali and 1788-L, and Skrillex and Boys Noize. We’ve also seen some of our favorite DJs like RL Grime and Alison Wonderland and NGHTMRE and Whethan hit the studio together and have been patiently waiting for their respective releases.

Yesterday, Lido took to Instagram to share a clip of him in the studio with future bass youngsters Louis The Child. The two acts make for an interesting pair but are sure to cook up some magic. Neither Lido nor Louis The Child have released original music this year but both have been spending a fair amount of time in the studio so we know something’s coming. Catch a glimpse on Lido’s Instagram Story before it disappears and stay tuned for more on their upcoming collaboration.
