Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, REZZ & More: Your EDM’s Stage Guide to EDC Orlando 2019

EDC Vegas may still be the flagship Insomniac event, but a smaller spin-off has become its own force of nature. It’s suitable for a festival set in a state threatened by hurricanes, heat waves with scolding sunburns and the dreaded Florida Man. Thankfully, this festival is in November, away from hurricanes and the worst of the Florida sun. No promises on Florida Man though…but expect a lot of happy ravers.

EDC returns to Orlando next weekend, this time running three days and spanning five stages. EDC Orlando launched nearly nine years ago in May 2011 at Tinker Field, with artists such as Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Goldie on the lineup. Flash forward to 2019: EDC Orlando is still at Tinker Field, but has expanded to be almost a new event entirely.

Last Friday, EDC Orlando announced the festival’s daily lineup by stage, and it’s exciting to see the breadth of talent on display. From pure EDM to rolling tech house, EDC Orlando’s lineups and stages have something for everyone.

Need help deciding who to see? We’d like to help. We picked our favorite artists for each stage, three for each of the bigger stages (kineticFIELD, circuitGROUNDS and neonGARDEN) and bonus picks for the two smaller stages (the debut of stereoBLOOM and the

Disclosure, Chromeo, & More Added To An Already Stacked Djakarta Warehouse 2019

Disclosure, Chromeo, & More Added To An Already Stacked Djakarta Warehouse 2019

Not EDC, not Ultra, but Djakarta Warehouse in Indonesia has presented one of the strongest lineups of 2019. There’s a lot to be said about the undercard and support in curating a festival lineup, but when you have headlining sets from Calvin Harris and Skrillex and Zedd and Martin Garrix… not much else needs to be said.

Better yet, September’s lineup drop was only Phase 1, and the festival has just announced Phase 2. Joining this already stacked lineup will be Disclosure, Chromeo, Markus Schulz, Salvatore Ganacci, Coone, Yung Bae, and still more to be announced.

DWP takes place December 13 – 15 at Jakarta International Expo in Indonesia. Tickets and info here.

Insomniac Drops Insanely Stacked Lineup for Countdown NYE 2019

Insomniac Drops Insanely Stacked Lineup for Countdown NYE 2019

If you’ve been following Insomniac’s socials lately, you’ve probably been warned that there’s an impending alien invasion. It’s all going down on New Year’s Eve at the NOS Events Center in Southern California as Insomniac rings in 2020 with Countdown. Picking up from last year’s alien invasion theme, this year’s theme will be New Year’s Invasion 2.0. Insomniac also announced the lineup for this year’s event, and it’s, ahem, out of this world.

First and foremost, the name that stands out the most is The Chainsmokers. This marks the first time the smash-hit duo has performed at an Insomniac festival at NOS since Countdown three years ago. Now, with their expanded live set and status as one of the biggest musical acts in the world, this is sure to be a special performance. The rest of the lineup is pretty stacked too with the usual blend of EDM heavy hitters, bass, and house to please all kinds of tastes. Alesso, Porter Robinson (DJ Set), Galantis, Oliver Heldens, Gryffin (DJ Set), Chris Lorenzo and 12th Planet are some of the highlights.

Tickets for Countdown New Year’s Invasion 2.0 go on sale this Wednesday at 10 AM PT. Check out the full lineup and prepare for the alien invasion. Are they here to PLUR or probe? We’ll find out on New Year’s Eve.

Insomniac Drops Map and Set Times For Escape Psycho Circus 2019

Insomniac Drops Map and Set Times For Escape Psycho Circus 2019

Set times are officially out for Escape Psycho Circus, going down this Friday and Saturday at NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA. It’s always a joyous occasion whenever set times are released as headliners can revel in the joy of all the amazing music they’re about to witness. However, it can also be a time of sorrow when you see the time conflicts and all the acts you won’t be able to see. Nonetheless, the show must go on. We’re here to help you navigate the two days of Halloween-themed madness that is the Psycho Circus.

This year’s edition of the festival will feature a completely new layout and new stage designs. Gone are the Slaughterhouse, Ghoul’s Graveyard, Chopping Block, and Cannibal’s Tea Party. In are the Grimm, Psycho Circus, Sanitarium and Sewer District. There’s also a new central hub of the festival called Crazy Town. I am beyond excited to see what Insomniac has in store for us for this year’s edition of Escape.

Back to the set times. The Grimm will be hosting all of the heavy hitters over the weekend. Dillon Francis, Timmy Trumpet and Duke Dumont highlight Night 1 with deadmau5 closing things out. Night 2 highlights include Don Diablo, RL Grime and Alok, with Alesso closing out the weekend. The second stage is the Psycho Circus, Bassrush will be holding it down on Night 1 with a stacked lineup including Bear Grillz, Borgore, ATLiens, and the

The Black Madonna Outraged Over Amazon Festival Booking & Demanded To Be Removed from Lineup

The Black Madonna Outraged Over Amazon Festival Booking & Demanded To Be Removed from Lineup

The Black Madonna has been removed from Amazon’s newly announced Intersect Music Festival after expressing extreme outrage over the booking.

The event sponsored by Amazon Web Services aka AWS has a strong lineup, featuring Foo Fighters, Kacey Musgraves, Beck, Anderson.Paak and more — but The Black Madonna wants absolutely no part of it. According to the superstar DJ, Amazon was never mentioned in any of the paperwork or offers put forth by the third party dealing with the booking.

She claims this festival is not what she — or potentially any of the other artists — signed up for. It’s unclear whether other acts including Gesaffelstein, Flying Lotus, Sophie and Jamie XX were left in the dark about festival affiliations as well.

Amazon, however, tells a much different story in its statement to Pitchfork:

Our affiliation of the Intersect Festival is clear in the contract that was signed by Black Madonna’s management team. “Amazon Web Services” was named in the contract five separate times, and throughout creative materials that were reviewed and approved. Regardless, we’ve decided to release her from her contractual obligation.

It’s obvious The Black Madonna does not wish to be affiliated with Amazon or the company’s forthcoming event, set to take place in Las Vegas this December.

Read her tweets below to get a better scope of her argument and the rest of the matter.

Amazon Launching Its Own Music Festival In Las Vegas With Foo Fighters, Gesaffelstein, & More

Amazon Launching Its Own Music Festival In Las Vegas With Foo Fighters, Gesaffelstein, & More

While Amazon’s corporate events usually include a big star or two, they’re hardly considered “music events.” Now, the online retailer is getting into the music festival world as it launches Intersect in Las Vegas this December.

It’s quite the abrupt announcement for a full, 2-day festival, but the lineup is no joke. Headlining will be Kacey Musgraves and Beck on day 1, with Foo Fighters and Anderson. Paak & The Free Nationals on day 2. They will be supported by the likes of Gesaffelstein, Jamie xx, JPEGMAFIA, Flying Lotus (3D), Kaytranada, Leon Bridges, and more.

In addition to the music acts, Amazon promises fun and games including a massive ball pit, a video arcade and a “post-apocalyptic dodgeball stadium.” There will also be food and cocktails, plus art installations like a six-story high tower of video art called the “Monolith.” To round out the technology theme, a light show consisting of 500 drones programmed and flown by a female-lead team will celebrate women in tech.

The festival powered by Amazon will take place on December 6th and 7th in Vegas, at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. Tickets start at $169 and are on sale now.
