Slow Magic Drops Second Installment Of "Dreams"

Slow Magic Drops Second Installment Of “Dreams”

A little over three months since Slow Magic returned from a year-long hiatus with Dreams, Pt. I, he has dropped the second in the series with two new singles: “I’ll Be There 4 U” and “Slow Wave Sleep.”

Unlike the first part which differentiated between the two tracks with powerful vocal and ambient tones, both singles in this part feel right in line with where Slow Magic is headed. The first song, with Evalyn, is an upbeat, happy song teeming with positivity, like running through a field of wheat in the setting sun. (I don’t know if others identify with that image of happiness, but give it a shot, eh?)

The second, “Slow Wave Sleep,” is the instrumental track on the release. If you were to compare it to “I’ll Be There 4 U,” it would be like this is after you’ve exited the wheat field and find an abandoned warehouse with an ambient rave and lots of really nice people. Not friends, yet, but they soon will be.

Dreams Pt. 2 is out now, listen below, with the full Dreams EP to follow on Tuesday, November 12.

Martin Garrix Drops Strangely Pleasant Song “Used To Love” For Halloween

Everyone today is dropping spooky tracks or mixes in celebration of Halloween — except for Martin Garrix. Honestly, it’s hard to tell if there’s a spooky bone in the wholesome Dutch boy’s body, and his new song with Dean Lewis, “Used To Love,” reinforces the suspicion that there isn’t.

“Used To Love” is the usual Garrix fare, with some quaint vocal chops in the drop and an non-intrusive melody. Lewis’ voice never really stands out from the production, which itself never really reaches any sort of crescendo. It’s a lot like his songs “No Sleep” with BONN or “There for You” with Troye Sivan, showing off a more mellow side to his sound, rather than the firework-inducing main stage bangers most people know him for.

Check out “Used To Love” from Martin Garrix and Dean Lewis below, out now on STMPD RCRDS. Catch Martin Garrix on tour here.

Cray Releases Debut EP “seasons change and so do i”

After years of playing shows and putting out music, CRAY today has finally released her debut EP, seasons change and so do i. It’s been a long year for the Vancouver-born/LA-based artist already, both personally and professionally. Through all of the trials and tribulations, she’s come out with this 7-track, deeply personal expression of herself and it shows.

When asked about the inspiration behind the EP, CRAY shared, “This EP was written over a year and half period. The first half of the EP was written when I was in a relationship and was struggling with being okay and happy and the end half I wrote when the relationship ended. It’s very much like a diary and that’s why the artwork is hand made and the songs have dates next to them to explain the journey of when I wrote them.”

She adds, “This EP is almost a story of falling out of love with someone and back into love with yourself. It’s angry, sad, hopeful and powerful. My inspiration for this is directly from my experiences and my writing, each song is personal and true to me and the writing process was emotional for me but very therapeutic as well.”

Listen to seasons change and so do i below.

In addition to upcoming festival performances, Cray will be performing intimate seasons change and so do i showcases in Los Angeles and New York City.
