Armin van Buuren Teases Huge Announcement at Amsterdam Music Festival

Armin van Buuren is on the verge of a huge announcement!

During his performance at Amsterdam Music Festival, the legend flashed a date and website across the LED in front of the stage– just long enough for fans in the crowd to catch on and spread the word.

Whatever he has up his sleeve, it’s happening next month and you can sign up for details via balance-amsterdam.com. It’s basically an announcement before the announcement — but when it’s Armin we’re talking, it’s going to be hype.

Armin van Buuren Unleashes 7th Studio Album ‘Balance’ [LISTEN]

Armin van Buuren‘s seventh studio album has arrived, Balance.

Sprawling two discs and 28 tracks long, Armin provides nonstop energy in a variety of forms. Diversity is key — from soft, ballad-like productions to pop-driven dance music, Balance has it all. Boasting massive festival tracks like “Blah Blah Blah” and “Stickup,” the album also has its fair share of bangers, as well as a new track with Ne-Yo and more.

Armin believes his new body of work is about thinking in possibilities rather than definition, and about what music could be instead of what it should be. It’s an amazing notion if you think about it.

He explains in his own words:

Every song I make teaches me something new, and the next song is always a result of all my previous records, the new things I learned and the people I met. Over the years, this process — and especially the fun of creating – became more and more important to me. It’s a journey that gives me meaning and helps me learn more about my personal interests rather than focus on the recognition I get for the outcome. That’s the big difference between who I am today and who I was a few years ago. ‘BALANCE’ is a new chapter in my book of life, the result of venturing into known and unknown territories while finding the balance in between.

Armin van Buuren Releases New Song With Ne-Yo, “Unlove You,” Off Forthcoming Album

A little over a month ago, legend Armin van Buuren announced his seventh studio albumBalance, one of his most expansive and ambitious projects to date with 28 tracks and collaborations with the likes of Conrad Sewell, Cimo Fränke, and more. But without a doubt, one of the collaborations that most caught our attention was “Unlove You” with Ne-Yo.

That single is out today, and already proving different than Armin’s typical fare. Beginning with a sort of ’80s R&B piano melody, it quickly moves into a groovy deep house rhythm with Ne-Yo’s crooning voice. Undeniably catchy, “Unlove You” sees the seminal artists explore the subject of a recognizable post-breakup dilemma in their own unique way.

Armin van Buuren said of the collaboration, “Part of the beauty of having no limitations at all in the studio is that I get to work with the most talented people no matter what ‘genre’ they’re in, and NE-YO is no exception. It’s an honor to have worked together. We both built a legacy in our own respective scenes, and I’m grateful we were able to bridge the gap between them through ‘Unlove You’.”

NE-YO added, “I already loved this song because of its subject matter, as it’s familiar territory. But Armin’s musical interpretation takes it to a whole other level. The energy is contagious!”

ADE & Dance Music Thrive In 2019 with 400,000 Attendees & €150 Million In Exports

ADE & Dance Music Thrive In 2019 with 400,000 Attendees & €150 Million In Exports

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is absolutely massive this year, as 400,000 people are expected to attend the music festival and conference. Furthermore, it’s quite obvious the city’s dance music scene is absolutely thriving in 2019 — and here’s the proof.

This news comes as Dutch DJs are expected to generate €150 million in exports this year. In addition, dance music now accounts for 75% of music exports, according to a new report courtesy of ING economists and radio station 538.

“Dutch DJs have accounted for half or more of the top 10 DJs worldwide for the past seven years,” according to the report.

The top earners are reportedly Tiësto, Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren — all of which are expected to throw down at ADE this year.

Over 2,500 artists will perform across 200 venues. Plus, about 600 speakers will present during the five-day program.

ADE 2019 runs today through Sunday.
