Kid Cudi, Tyler, The Creator, Nicki Minaj + More Respond To A$AP Rocky’s Arrest In Sweden

A$AP Rocky‘s arrest in Sweden has been at the center of attention for the past week. Following his arrest for assault on July 2nd in Stockholm, Rocky has been indefinitely detained and undergone inhumane conditions in a Swedish pre-trial detention center. Since his incarceration, Rocky has been forced to cancel all of his July tour dates and festival appearances, many of which happen to be in Europe.

Many celebrities have come out in support of A$AP Rocky’s immediate release, with Tyler, The Creator, ScHoolboy Q, and Lil Yachty going as far as to say they will no longer tour in Sweden. The list of support ranges from rappers like A$AP Ferg, Kid Cudi, Nicki Minaj, and Tory Lanez, to icons like Cyndi Lauper, actress Olivia Wilde, football star Ocho Cinco, and New York Congressman Adriano Espaillat, who has vowed to “fight until he’s brought back home.”

A$AP Rocky Detained For Two Weeks In Sweden + Facing 6 Years For Assault

On Tuesday night, A$AP Rocky was arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident that occurred in Stockholm, Sweden on Sunday night. A video of the alleged assault (below) quickly went viral and Rocky responded with a pair of Instagram videos detailing his side of the story.

On Friday, a judge ordered Rocky be detained for two weeks in pre-trial detention. Swedish police will further investigate the incident during Rocky’s pre-trial lockup. Following Friday’s news, A$AP Ferg shared more details regarding Rocky’s arrest and treatment in the Swedish detention through an Instagram post. Ferg wrote, “He’s in Sweden locked up in solitary confinement with no visit or phone call privileges.”
